What We Do
Langar is the Sikh principle of providing a community kitchen where people of all religions, race, genders, and class can eat together as equals.
Guru Nanak Dev Ji created the concept of langar as a way to bring people of all backgrounds to assist the underserved. Langar emphasizes community, sharing, kindness, and inclusion.
All Gurdwaras (Sikh temples) participate in providing attendees with langar regardless of status or wealth.
Our Mission
Founded off the Sikh tenet of “langar” (community kitchen), the Sikh Welfare Organization strives to provide hot meals to the needy with food insecurity.

Serving underrepresented communities (race, religion, status, class, gender) without judgement is one of the core principles that our organization is built on. We rely on volunteerism through community members and local Indian businesses to keep our services sustained.
