Langar Services
S.W.O organizes free langar services for religious events such as Darbar-E-Khalsa held by The International Institute of Gurmat Studies (IIGS), Baisakhi Celebration at Convention Center, and various Sikh parades in L.A
The organization provides free langar services to their local Gurdwara, Nanak Sadan Sikh Temple and organizes special langar (sugarcane juice, handmade sweets, etc) for Sikh holidays.
Feed L.A Project
Sikh Welfare began the Feed L.A Project in 2015 with two catering vans, one holding hot vegetarian meals and the other full of volunteers. Following Sikh tenets, this project aims to provide anyone who is needy with a hot and nutritious meal regardless of their background.
This project would not be possible without community donations and the efforts of volunteers who prepare the fresh food beforehand. While Feed L.A focuses on hot meals, we hope to expand our operation to include providing basic necessities like care packages, toiletries, and sanitary products to those in need.
